Restore FSRM settings?<\/h3>\n

Microsoft dosn’t have any easy way to backup und restore only FSRM settings like Disk Quota.<\/p>\n

supported workaround: full restore of the server!<\/p>\n

But if we make some error within the FSR Management, in example deleting one quota, we need an easy way to restore this settings.<\/p>\n

Backup FSRM settings!<\/h3>\n

step by step..<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. change the ownership to Administrators of\u00a0 „System Volume Information“, cause all FSRM settings are stored inside this folder<\/li>\n
  2. stop the ( hidden ) services:
    \nsrmSvc, srmReports, quota, Datascrn<\/li>\n
  3. backup the content from „E:\\System Volume Information\\SRM“ ore any needed Volume Information<\/li>\n
  4. start the hidden services described above<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Restore FSRM settings!<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. stop the ( hidden ) services:
      \nsrmSvc, srmReports, quota, Datascrn<\/li>\n
    2. restore files to „E:\\System Volume Information\\SRM“<\/li>\n
    3. start the hidden services described above<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      take a look after backup or restore into eventlog.<\/p>\n

      2 events tell us the state about this steps. it works<\/p>\n

      doing:<\/h3>\n

      net stop srmSvc
      \nnet stop srmReports
      \nnet stop quota
      \nnet stop Datascrn<\/p>\n

      i.e. :
      \nrobocopy\u00a0 „E:\\Backup_Quota\\%Date%“ „D:\\System Volume Information\\SRM“ \/R:3 \/W:5<\/p>\n

      net start Datascrn
      \nnet start quota
      \nnet start srmReports
      \nnet start srmSvc<\/p>\n

      Note:<\/strong>
      \nnot supported! but works without errors.<\/p>\n
